The festive season has begun and the cheer and joy that it brings is reflected in this issue through the multi-faceted designs. Buzzwords this issue are technology and minimalism and both are reflected in the designs of various projects across the hospitality, commercial and residential sectors.

Rooted In Desi
With 3,700 sq ft vacant space in hand for a restaurant, Amandeep Singh, owner of New Delhi´s Desi Roots, began with the design don´s. No Bollywood. No metal work. No utensils as décor props. Having eliminated the don´ts, he narrowed down to the one-li Amandeep Singh,ne design must-do. Create a ´cool´ Indian eatery that does not look ´typically´ Indian.

Connaught Place, the heart of New Delhi, has today become a foodie´s paradise, what with 70 odd restaurants lining its outer and inner circle. And to top it all, most of them offer similar menu on the lines of world cuisine.

As its name suggests, The Bikers CafT is a cafT cum lounge in Kolkata that sports an ´adda look´. Brainchild of Amit Porwal, a Mumbai-based designer, this restaurant offers an informal, rugged dTcor that appeals to the young and the young-at-heart alike.
