City of skyscrapers
Work has begun on a chamfered glass skyscraper designed by Foster + Partners for the Dubai International Financial Centre district (DIFC), which will offer occupants views of the world´s tallest building.
Planning permission has been granted for 22 Bishopsgate, a 62-storey skyscraper by PLP Architecture that is set to be the second-tallest building in London.
Paris is to get its first skyscraper in 40 years after Herzog & de Meuron won planning permission for its 180-metre-high Tour Triangle. Once built, Tour Triangle will become the city's third tallest building after the Eiffel Tower and the Montparnasse Tower.

The newest in crazy skyscraper designs is this newly completed skyscraper that is shaped like a giant doughnut. Designed by Italian architect Joseph di Pasquale in Guangzhou, China, this delicious looking building is located on the edge of the Pearl River and houses the headquarters of Chinese companies Guangdong Hongda Xingye Group and GDPE Guangdong Plastic Exchange.
Another tall order!
Architects and engineers at Broad Sustainable Building (BSB) aim to build the Sky City in Changsha in 90 days flat! It is slated to be the tallest skyscraper in the world, standing 838 m high, with over 220 floors. Sky City is perhaps the most ambitious project undertaken by the BSB group, which has never built anything taller than 30 storeys before.
