The Humayun´s Tomb - a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Delhi has recently got a gold crown. A 24-carat gold finial has been installed atop the tomb´s majestic dome.
The Seibu Group has commissioned Kazuyo Sejima to design a new express train for Japan. This Limited Express train is supposed to be a ´friendly´ addition to the company´s ´Red Arrow´ series.
The CWAB Awards were applauded as much for the process, theme, our fabulous winners who were there in full strength, as they were for the content. The platforms uniqueness in felicitating both architects and builders drew admiration and allowed for real industry dialogue to ensue.
Happy Birthday Richard Rogers
We at CW INTERIORS want to wish Sir Richard Rogers a very Happy Birthday. In his honour, we shall take a trip down memory lane with a quick sneak peak of his greatest achievements... Richard George Rogers, a British architect noted for his modernist and functionalist designs in high-tech architecture, turns 81 today!
Oldest living legend
Chinese-American architect IM Pei became the oldest living Pritzker Prize winner as he celebrated his birthday and turned 96 last month. Pei was born in China in 1917 and moved to US when he turned 18 to study architecture
Japanese architect Toyo Ito, noted for his fluid building designs, has won the 2013 Pritzker Architecture Prize. The 71-year-old architect is the sixth Japanese architect to receive the prize.
Master of minimalism
Peter Zumthor, the renowned Swiss architect and winner of the 2009 Pritzker Prize, has recently been awarded the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Royal Gold Medal in London.
Iconic museum re-designed
Pritzker-price winning architect Jean Nouvel has designed the Louvre Abu Dhabi, a subsidiary museum of the famous Louvre in Paris, which will cover an area of 64,000 sq m on Saadiyat island.
