In conversation with Vivek Kapoor, Director, Jupitar Aqua Lines, about the brand´s journey so far, its collaborations and its plans for the future.
How has the journey of more than three decades been for Jupiter Aqua Lines (JAL) in the Indian market?
The journey has been remarkably good. Starting with just one range of products and a single market in 1989, JAL has become a household brand in many markets through¡out India. Today, we are present pan India with a strong network of more than 1200 distributors and dealers. We also show a healthy presence in Nepal and Bhutan.
Tell us about your star products and their USP?
All of our product ranges are indigenously designed and are different from competition. We have many green products as we put a lot of emphasis on saving water. Our star product is the India patented foot operated valve. This product does not require a handle to operate a faucet, instead it works with a valve that can be pressed with the foot. This helps in saving water and is hygienic, too. We are also pioneers in flushing systems and have many new products in this category.
How many products do you launch in a year?
Normally one new range, consisting of approximately 18-20 products, is launched once a year. Our new swan-inspired range Tansa has a strong presence in the market.
Tell us more about the collaboration with FIMA Carlo Frattini.
FIMA Carlo Frattini is a reference company in Italian taps industry, wherein it has been operating for more than fifty years. The company is known for stylish faucets collec¡tion with well-defined technical features. Fima Carlo Frattini portfolio consists of four different verticals - Rubinetterie, Aqua code, Kitchen and Wellness.
Which collections from Fima Carlo Frattini are available in India?
All the collections are available here.
We have divided the offering into two segments - ´Readily Available´ and ´On Order´. Hence the time frame of delivery varies between already stocked items and items on order. Keeping a stock of all the ranges is challenging but it´s a big advantage, too.
Does the company plan to open exclusive showrooms?
We already have dealers in all major cities such as Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Chandigarh, Ludhiana etc. We are looking for more partnerships.
How has the year been so far?
Though at this point the market is stagnant but JAL has been able to achieve our targeted growth. Apart from two new upcoming ranges in faucets, we would be introducing more than 25 products in the Wellness series such as whirlpool tubs, steam cabinets and sauna rooms. JAL has recently introduced a wide variety of stainless kitchen sinks and flushing cisterns. During the last quarter, we would be introducing an exclusive range of ceramic wares.
