A tree-shaped urban skyfarm will soon provide food and renewable energy for South Korea. Design studio Aprilli has elaborated on plans for a giant vertical hydroponic farm and community hub. The skyscraper will be shaped like a tree, and is designed for local food production while simultaneously contributing to the improvement of environmental quality through water, air filtration and renewable energy output. The structure features four major sections - the root, trunk, branch and leaf – all of which together provide 1.5 million sq ft for a variety of farming and community activities.
