Carpet tile manufacturer Interface is breaking through to new levels of environmental and social responsibility, sustainability and the next wave in product design with its new modular carpet collection, Net Effect. This range is inspired both by the ocean's life-giving power and its plight - marine life and habitats that are endangered by discarded fishing nets, acidification, over-fishing, pollution and climate change. It contains 100 percent recycled content yarn made from various sources including used carpet fluff harvested from Interface's ReEntry® programme, commercial fishing nets and nets from the Net-Works project in the Philippines.

Royal Philips has become the first patron sponsor of the International Year of Light in 2015, a UNESCO-led initiative. In this role, Philips will work with UNESCO and a large consortium of scientific bodies to raise awareness of the ways that light-based technologies can provide solutions in the areas of energy, education, agriculture, health and wellbeing.
