What does innovation in architecture mean to you?
Innovation in architecture is a continuous process, since the world of architecture offers immense possibilities for continuously innovating. Innovation can be in the spatial, visual or any sensory experience that architecture offers, both from within the building or from outside.
The most innovative and flexible material you have come across and why...
The most innovative and flexible material, in my opinion, is glass. It has offered a transparency and relationship of spaces within and outside the building at a level that no other material had so far. Glass can be used in a variety of shapes, sizes, forms above ground, underground and even inside water. However, it still requires innovation to address environmental issues more than what it has done so far.
An innovation in architecture you look forward to...
Innovation in architecture which I look forward to is to create buildings which can be in the realm of water and air. So far, mankind has been obsessed with buildings on land, whether above or below ground. However, architecture needs to innovate and create habitation both on water and in air, since these are both in abundance compared to land.
