Chinese inspiration

The international competition Mount Lu Estate of World Architecture (MOLEWA) was won by the Mexico City- and Berlin-based Zeller & Moye. As per the rules, the firm will get to design the new housing project in Ruichang. The competition was organised by Organized by Uni+¦n Internacional de Arquitectos (UIA) and Hua Yan Group and received entries from more than 40 countries. The concept of Zeller & Moye´s design is based on Flower Terraces. Based on the traditional Chinese motifs, the Flower Terraces arrange living areas individually as volumes around green outdoor spaces. The individually shaped apartments give the impression that the residents are living in a unique ´house´ rather than a unit in a building.
