Festival of Architecture & Interior Designing 2015 exclusive media partner CNBC TV 18 was an event of complete celebration in its truest sense. The festival that was recently held in New Delhi, witnessed humungous attendance of stalwarts from the design fraternity to the budding architects & interior designers. Shri B V Doshi, Vastu Shilpa Consultant (audio visual aid) complemented Team FOAID for organizing a festival of this nature however , also suggested that we hold such discussions not only for 2 days but at regular intervals regionally and nationally to secure the future of Design.
Presented by Hindware & Powered by Artt d Inox , FOAID started on a grand note by showcasing some of the Iconic structures starting from the Indus Valley civilization to the present buildings, which truly described the Glory of Indian Architecture. On that note, Mr Getamber Anand , President CREDAI said ´ I Congratulate the organizers of FOAID for creating such a conference as it´s important to continue this trend to do something better for the coming generations´
The highlight of the event was the DESIGN ARENA, where 40 Iconic Projects were on display by the Stalwarts from the Design fraternity which included names like Ar Dikshu Kukreja , Ar. Rahul Kumar , Ar Kalhan Mattoo, Ar Tanuja Kanvinde , Ar Rajeev Agarwal ,Ar, Nitin Gupta, Ar Raman Sikka & many more. Design Arena hence proved to be a learning platform, where there was phenomenal footfall by the fan followers of the stalwarts who were highly excited to witness & capture the projects. The visitors comprised of Developers, Corporates, Project Managers, Contractors and the allied fraternity members. Design Arena also showcased 30 nominated projects by Young Gen Designers who were the nominees in different categories for Architecture Ideas 2.0 competition. To add to the beauty there were Creative Installations by the students from Design background which not only added a lot of value aesthetically but also helped in educating the masses of various Wall Art Concepts.
The National Conference of FOAID 2015 included experts who discussed on various topics which helped the delegates to understand the creative nuances of Design in a span of 2 days. Prof. AGK Menon, A Conservationist, who was also a Moderator on the topic of Conservation of Heritage Values said, ´The panel was very interesting, because it had to do with INNOVATION with architecture and that's exactly what FOAID is trying to do´. Ar. Sanjay Puri, Sanjay Puri Architects, highlighted ´It is very important to increase employment for the crafts men of our country and to revive the traditional Indian Art´.
Delegates were delighted by the presence of Leading names like Ar, Manit Rastogi , Ar. Reza Kabul , Ar. Naresh V Narasimhan , Ar. Vivek Gupta ,Ar. Ravi Sarangan, Ar Ninad Tipnis and many more.
The evening lit up with some very exciting presentations in the form of Pecha-Kucha 20-20, where presenters were invited from different backgrounds like Music, Film- Making, Photography, Architecture, Design & Art. Ar. Manish Gulati, Mofa Design Studio, a presenter for Pecha Kucha 20-20 expressed ´It was not just about Architecture but fun chit chat. There were Architects who were actually not presenting Architecture, like I was presenting on food and that's exactly how Pecha Kucha should be. It was quite successful´
Ar. Sonali Bhagwati, DPA said, ´I have been a part of both the editions of FOAID and I feel the concept is ready to take off. ´ Ar. Khozema Chitalwala , Designers group added ´ FOAID is become a festival in true sense with celebration along with serious discussion . Also that it is attended by the key fraternity members´. ´FOAID is a great initiative to bring together the fraternity under one roof ´explains Lipika Sud, Lipika Sud Interiors. ´FOAID is very well structured and panel discussions are very energetic´, commented Ar Oscar Concessao, OCI Architects.
All in all, the dignitaries at FOAID 2015 were over whelmed to see the growth of the event as compared to the last edition which took place in Mumbai. The platform not only celebrated Architecture & Design, but also helped the fraternity to interact in an open environment where Design was discussed which gave birth to new ideas and generated tremendous excitement amongst all and ended on a high note with almost everyone looking forward to a better, bigger & Grandeur FOAID 2016.
