Hyper realistic paintings by Gustavo Silva Nuñez
There is no dearth of talent, and if it combined with creativity, then the result can be mind boggling. Take the example of Venezuela-based artist Gustavo Silva Nuñez who creates hyper realistic paintings of swimmers floating and splashing about. Nuñez’s works are so close to reality that they can be deceptive. Submerged in azure pools of water, his subjects float serenely, swim gracefully, splash about, or surface for air with a spray of bubbles. With a focus on detail, Nuñez beautifully captures every last detail like the subtle shades of blue reacting to the light falling on it, distortions of bodies under the water and the ripples and currents the weight of the body would create. The paintings are unbelievably beautiful!
To add another dimension to the lifelike paintings, Nuñez poses with his paintings, pretending to hold onto the subjects arms or greet the swimmers as they break the waters surface for air. With the breathtaking level of hyperrealism in his works, it often becomes difficult to distinguish Nuñez from his paintings.
