The Wood Innovation and Design Centre (WIDC) in downtown Prince George in BC Canada was one of two winners of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada´s Innovation in Architecture award, 2015. Michael Green, the architect involved in the project is from Vancouver. The award features projects that find new ways in implementing wood and steel and recognizes areas for exploring new innovation like research and development, applied use of new technology and existing altering technology. WIDC was sighted for its focus on wood as an attractive and sustainable material and for its economical and safe features.
