Arjun Malik, Principal Architect, Malik Architecture
Arjun Malik, son of architect Kamal Malik, has architecture in his genes. A dynamic architect in his own right, Arjun apprenticed with a few world-famous architects before joining his father's 36-year-old multidisciplinary firm. He has conceptualised some fantastic designs for national and international projects and was also felicitated by IGEN Design Forum under IGEN 50 – top 50 architects and interior designers.
What does innovation in architecture mean to you?
Innovation is progress, it is a manner of seeing and is based on relativism. Whether it is gradual evolution or a radical leap, it implies a departure from convention resulting in an improved solution. Innovation lies in the investigation of new territory, which establishes a path along which further evolution may occur. Systemic and strategic innovation is rare and has far reaching results.

The most innovative piece of architecture you have come across and why...
I have not yet come across a contemporary building that I find to be truly innovative.
