Hi-five Hyderabad!
Named after the famous architect architect Hussain Shah Wal, Hyderabad´s beautiful 450-year-old Hussainsagar Lake is going to be cleaned and filled with clean water through rain and the original catchment that is not contaminated. All this in the next two months!

Miami skyscraper
Architect Zaha Hadid is all set to bring her trademark curves and column-free spaces in Miami through a luxury tower she has designed on its downtown bayfront that lacked skyscrapers. The structure will twist over 700 feet into the sky to provide views reaching across Biscayne Bay and past Miami Beach to the Atlantic Ocean.

Pune college leads
Pune-based Dr Bhanuben Nanavati College of Architecture (BNCA) for women has been named Asia´s best architecture college for the year 2014-15. This honour was awarded to them by the prestigious World Consulting and Research Corporation (WCRC) after a research survey conducted by KPMG. Apparently, the college is the only one in India with a course in digital architecture. More power to us!

License suspended
Licenses of architects Chetan P Bhagat and Varsha J Chauhan from Surat have been suspended for illegal construction in Sagrampura and Salabatpura area of the city. The illegal properties have been demolished.

Slums free
The new DP plan of Mumbai by the BMC has conveniently left out areas like Back Bay Reclamation, BKC, Dharavi and SEEPZ which make up 9% of the BMC-governed limits of the city. Wonder why?
