Thomas Heatherwick, the designer behind the London 2012 cauldron, met with a dead-end with his latest project - a new restaurant in Shoreham, West Sussex. Developer Jane Wood had roped him in to design the restaurant in his signature style. However, negotiations over the project fell through as the local council was adamant about having 12 toilets for this 70-seat eatery, instead of five. While Wood has bowed out of the negotiations, the site will continue be used as a large toilet.
